1000 patients, 1000 phone numbers, 1000 addresses, 1000 medication regimens, and 1000 appointments. And that’s just a start.
Medical care in Haiti generally did not involve computers when this program started in 2010. An important feature of our program is educating staff to use computers to streamline their work. This is also vital to keeping records organized and accessible. Currently we are working to improve our electronic medical record design. Our hope is to have a system that detects when appointments are missed or medications are not picked up.
